| How late | Penalty |
|---|---|
| Up to 1 month | £150 |
| 1 to 3 months | £375 |
| 3 to 6 months | £750 |
| More than 6 months | £1,500 |
The penalty is doubled if accounts are late 2 years in a row. Source: GOV.UK, penalties for late filing.
Which accounts does my company need?
A company is a micro-entity if it meets 2 of these 3 tests: turnover of £1 million or less, £500,000 or less on its balance sheet, and 10 employees or fewer. It is a small company if it meets 2 of these 3: turnover of £15 million or less, £7.5 million or less on its balance sheet, and 50 employees or fewer.
Most of our clients are micro-entities. We do not carry out audits, so we are not the right fit for a company that needs one.

Common questions
How much does it cost to file company accounts?
We charge a fixed £199 + VAT, which covers your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax return (CT600) together. If you would like everything handled all year, monthly packages start at £79 + VAT.
How quickly can you file my accounts?
Within 5 working days of receiving complete records. If your deadline is close, our express service files within 2 working days for an extra £50 + VAT.
My accounts are already late. Can you help?
Yes. The Companies House penalty rises the longer accounts are outstanding, so filing quickly limits the cost. Send us your records and choose the express service if you need it.
Does a dormant company need to file accounts?
Yes. A dormant company must still file annual accounts with Companies House, although dormant accounts are much simpler.
Can I file company accounts myself?
Yes, there is no legal requirement to use an accountant. HMRC's free filing service has closed, so you now need commercial software to do it, and many directors find a fixed fee simpler.
